Gail's spotted Holsteiner sport horse breeding operation, Cloverlone Broodmare Farm

Cloverlone's pastures in summer sun

Cloverlone Broodmare Farm is now located in Middleburg, VA. Green pastures, 19 stalls and training facilities are in two locations with more than 70 acres of pasture. Horses are meant to be on grass and though it may need supplementing in the winter, there is enough room that they grow back lush in the summer.

Cloverlone Broodmare Farm set out more than 20 years ago to produce the best spotted Holsteiner sport horses in the world. Each new generation cuts the appaloosa blood in half. Since the founding sire, Locksley Spotlight, only had 17% appalossa blood it has not taken as long as it would for others. Last summer Captain America, a spotted colt with a German Verband stam was born with only 4% appaloosa blood. It is expected he will produce color himself on pure bred warmblood mares. He is in amazing mover. (link to video here)
